Dr. Alaa El-Ghobashy is a highly accomplished Consultant Gynecological Oncologist and Robotic Surgeon with a distinguished career spanning over 14 years as a consultant in NHS England. He specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of gynecological cancers, including ovarian, uterine, cervical, and vulval cancers.
With extensive training in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery, Dr. Alaa El-Ghobashy has been at the forefront of robotic gynecological oncology surgery for over a decade. He is very familiar with cancer treatment and also with complicated non-cancer conditions in women’s health, including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, abnormal bleeding, fibroids, and uterine prolapse.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. El-Ghobashy is deeply involved in research, medical education, and innovation. He has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, contributed to book chapters, and edited two textbooks on robotic surgery. His dedication to women’s health has made him a leader in gynecologic oncology and robotic-assisted surgery.
Dr. El-Ghobashy also plays a critical role in genetic cancer research and prevention as the Associate Medical Lead for the English Lynch Syndrome Transformation Project, working to improve cancer screening and early detection strategies for hereditary gynecological cancers.
