Dr. Omar Alelwan is a highly skilled Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Al Fujairah Hospital, UAE. He also serves as a Consultant in Gynecologic Oncology, with expertise in diagnosing and treating cancers of the female reproductive system. He is also an Assistant Professor at RAK Medical & Health Sciences University.
Dr. Alelwan obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Gulhane Military Medical Academy School of Medicine in Ankara, Turkey. He underwent residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Jordanian Royal Medical Services (JRMS). Furthermore, he pursued a three-year subspecialty training in Gynecologic Oncology, spending two years at JRMS and one year at Baskent University School of Medicine, Turkey, under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Ali Ayhan.
In addition to his subspecialty, Dr. Alelwan has extensive experience in advanced minimally invasive surgery for benign and malignant gynecological conditions, including laparoscopic and robotic procedures. He was the first in Emirates Health Services (EHS) and among the pioneers in the UAE to introduce Vaginal Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery (V-NOTE) hysterectomy. Besides, Dr. Omar Alelwan is an expert in diagnosing and managing gynecologic cancers, conducting intricate gynecological operations, and offering cervical cancer screening and prevention. His expertise includes human papillomavirus (HPV) management, advanced hysterectomy techniques, and state-of-the-art gynecologic surgical procedures to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
