He furthered his expertise through a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Perinatology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Wayne State University, Detroit, USA, from 2022 to 2023. During this time, he had the privilege of being part of Prof. Roberto Romero’s team at the Perinatology Research Branch (PRB), contributing to cutting-edge research in the field.
Dr Malek possesses a diverse skill set honed through his professional experiences. He serves as a consultant in Fetal Medicine at Al Karak Hospital in Jordan. Therefore has undergone rigorous training in Laparoscopic procedures in India as well. Dr Malek also actively engages in clinical work at the Maternal-Fetal Unit Clinic at Santa Maria Della Misericordia University Hospital in Italy. That is where he conducts fetal echocardiography and performs various fetal procedures.
Dr Malek Al Qasem’s research interests encompass various topics crucial to maternal and fetal health. These include prenatal diagnosis, meconium-stained amniotic fluid, preterm labour. It also includes fetal monitoring technologies, and the impact of cytokines on pregnancy, among others.
