Dr Saad Ghazal Aswad is a highly respected Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Gynaecological Oncologist with over four decades of experience in clinical practice, medical education, and leadership. He has dedicated his career to advancing women’s healthcare, particularly in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of gynecological cancers.

After earning his Doctorate of Medicine from Aleppo University in 1980, Dr Aswad pursued postgraduate training in the United Kingdom in General Surgery, Urology, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology. He became a Member of MRCOG(Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists) in 1988. Further, Dr Saad Ghazal Aswad specialized in Gynecological Oncology at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, one of the UK’s leading cancer treatment centers. In 1993, he earned his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of Newcastle and was appointed Consultant and Lecturer at Newcastle University.

In the United Arab Emirates, Dr Saad Ghazal Aswad has played a pivotal role in medical education and healthcare system development. He was an Associate Professor at the College of Medicine & Health Sciences (CMHS)and a Consultant at Tawam Hospital. Later, Dr Aswad advanced to Chair of the Department, serving from 2006 to 2011 and 2013 to 2019. He played a crucial role in founding Ain Al-Khaleej Hospital through his strong leadership. Furthermore, he served as its Medical Director.

Dr Aswad’s expertise covers a broad spectrum of women’s health. He specializes in gynecological cancer screening and colposcopy. Additionally, he expertly manages pre-cancerous conditions and complex gynecological diseases. Moreover, he provides comprehensive routine antenatal care. His dedication to clinical excellence and medical education has received several distinguished awards in the UAE and across the Middle East.
