With a rich as well as diverse career across London and Oxford, Dr Hooman Soleymani Majd, is a highly esteemed Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Oxford Hospital. With a special focus on Gynaecological Oncology Surgery. His journey in Obstetrics and Gynaecology began in London, and evolved through Oxford. That is where he successfully completed his structured postgraduate training program. His commitment and expertise culminated in the membership in the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG). Subsequently, crowned by a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Ob-Gyn.
Dedicating an extra three years to training in the sub-speciality of Gynecological Oncology at the Churchill Cancer Centre in Oxford, Dr Hooman Soleymani Majd has emerged as a BSCCP accredited Colposcopist and trainer. He proudly holds membership in the esteemed British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS).
Dr. Soleymani Majd actively pioneers new surgical techniques, extending his professional interests beyond routine practice. His expertise lies in ultra-radical surgery for advanced ovarian cancer, radical pelvic exenteration operations. His passion also encompasses the treatment of patients with Placenta Accreta Spectrum (PAS), where he serves as the surgical lead for the OxPAT group. Undoubtedly he contributes significantly to the Oxford Sarcoma team.
As a testament to his dedication towards advancing medical knowledge, Dr. Hooman Soleymani Majd collaborates with Professor Sarosh Irani in the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences and Dr. Adam Al-Diwani in the Department of Psychiatry on auto-antibody mediated neurological diseases.
Active in academia, Dr. Soleymani Majd is deeply engaged in teaching registrars, fellows, and medical students from Oxford University. He has made substantial contributions to the field through numerous published papers and as an invited speaker at international congresses. His editorial responsibilities include serving on the board of Current Problems in Cancer: Case Reports, Gynecology and Pelvic Medicine (GPM). He also serves in the JOGCR. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for prominent journals like Cereus, BMJ Case Reports, European Journal of Gynaecology Oncology (EJGO), and Frontiers in Oncology.
