Dr Aleksander Khelaia is a distinguished figure in the field of urology, holding affiliations with the National Center of Urology, Tbilisi State University, and European University. With a robust background in research and academia, Dr Aleksander serves as a Urology lecturer at Tbilisi State University. His journey into the medical field commenced at Tbilisi State Medical University, where he laid the foundation for his illustrious career. Furthering his training, he also pursued advanced studies at the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry, honing his expertise in urology.
Driven by a relentless pursuit of knowledge as well as skill enhancement, Dr Aleksander Khelaia has undertaken multiple fellowship programs. This was completed in esteemed institutions across Turkey, Hungary, and Belgium. These programs have not only broadened his clinical expertise but also enriched his understanding of diverse urological conditions and treatment modalities. His commitment to both learning and professional development is evident in his extensive training. Subsequently its also seen in his dedication to staying abreast of the latest advancements in urological care.
Within his home country of Georgia, Dr Aleksander Khelaia plays a important role in shaping the landscape of urological practice. Dr. Khelaia’s research interests span a wide range of urological domains, with particular emphasis on Female Urology & Andrology. He also focuses on Male Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Urinary Tract Symptoms. His contributions to the field are not limited to clinical practice but also to academic pursuits. With 18 published papers to his credit, Dr Aleksander has significantly enriched the body of knowledge in urology. Therefore, disseminating valuable insights and findings to the global urological community.
Dr. Aleksander Khelaia actively fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the urological community beyond his professional endeavors. As the founder of the “Tbilisi Andrologist Club,” he has created a platform for urologists to exchange ideas, discuss challenging cases, and stay updated on the latest developments in the field.
