Dr. Husham Y. M. A. Bayazed

Professor Dr. Husham Y. M. A. Bayazed is a clinical immunology consultant who focuses on autoimmunity, cancer immunology, asthma, and allergic diseases. He is currently working at the College of Medicine, University of Zakho, Kurdistan Regional Government, Iraq. In addition to being a professor, he has also worked in a private clinic with asthma and allergic diseases and practices infectious diseases.
Dr. Bayazed holds a bachelor’s degree (MB.ChB.) in general medicine from the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, Mosul, Iraq (1979–1981). He also holds a Master’s degree (MSc) in Medical Immunology and a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Immunology, both from the College of Medicine, University of Mosul, Mosul, Iraq (1987 and 2006, respectively).
Dr. Bayazed worked as a house officer at Mosul Teaching Hospital in Iraq from 1979 to 1980. From 1983 to 1985, he was a demonstrator at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the College of Medicine, University of Mosul. From 1987 to 2000, he has come to be a lecturer in the same department. From 1995 to 1996, he was a senior house officer at Mosul Teaching Hospital, Department of Medicine, Section D. He also worked as a physician with the Sandi Group American Security Company, providing medical care to American military troops in Iraq (November 2004–May 2006).
Dr. Bayazed has been a part of a number of national and international groups, such as the Viral Hepatitis and AIDS Committee in Iraq, the Arab Alliance for the Prudent Use of Antimicrobials (ArAAPUA), and the World Stroke Organization. Since 2008, he has additionally been a member of the Immunologist’s Advisory Board (EUROMDnet) in Belgium. He is also a fellow of the International Society of Chemotherapy, Infections, and Cancer. Additionally, he has been a member of the Metabolomics Society (USA) and the American Association of Science and Technology since 2013.
Dr. Bayazed has taken a number of administrative and scientific training courses, like the Administrative Workshop for Technical Institutes in 2010 and the World Stroke Organization Workshop in 2008. He has also written a few books and worked as a scientific reviewer and referee for several journals, such as the Saudi Medical Journal, the Hepatitis Monthly Journal, and the Sultan Qaboos University Medical Journal.
